Account deletion
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · version 2026-10-28
How to delete your HomesWallet account or household yourself, what is deleted, what the law requires us to keep and how to cancel.
How
Open Settings → Delete your account / the household, read the consequences, confirm and prove it is you (face, fingerprint, PIN or the 12 words). The deletion is scheduled after 7 days; until then you can cancel it in Settings. You get an e-mail when it is scheduled and when it is done.
- The owner deletes the whole household: all encrypted records and files, the bills addresses, the keys and the accounts in it that have no other household. The other members are notified. Until the deletion the household is read-only. If you only want to leave and the family should carry on, transfer ownership first.
- An adult member deletes only their own account: they are removed from the household and their keys and sign-ins are deleted, while the household's data stays with the others. The owner is notified.
- A running subscription ends and the Stripe customer is deleted; no refund is given for the unused period.
DELETED DATA CANNOT BE RESTORED BY ANYONE — NOT BY YOU AND NOT BY US. BEFORE DELETING, DOWNLOAD A COPY FROM SETTINGS → DATA & PRIVACY.
What is kept after the deletion
By law we keep the payments, invoices, credit notes and their sending (the Accounting Act and the VAT Act), and as evidence the record of the deletion request and of the accepted terms. They contain only payment data and the e-mail, never household data. The hashes by which we check whether the trial was already used remain, so that it cannot be started again with a new account. Cancellation reasons remain without a link to the household. Receipt fingerprints of proven savings stay up to 400 days without a link to you. Encrypted backups disappear within 5 weeks.
If you cannot unlock your keys, first recover or reset them (the sign-in screen will guide you) and then delete the account; or write to us at legal@homeswallet.com from the account's e-mail.
